Cropping systems with perennial vegetation and livestock integration promote soil health

چکیده
Abstract Soil health can differ across cropping systems because of variation in edaphic and management factors. We evaluated how biological indicators soil (soil organic matter [SOM], permanganate oxidizable carbon [POXC], mineralizable [MinC], autoclaved‐citrate‐extractable [ACE] protein, potentially nitrogen [PMN]) compared four common Wisconsin systems: grazed cool‐season pastures, forage‐based rotations that included perennial legumes or grasses, annual receiving manure, synthetic fertilizers. Biological were up to 195% greater pastures than other systems. MinC, POXC PMN 10%–90% systems, but only MinC with manure those without by 35% 7%, respectively. Perennial vegetation livestock integration offer the greatest potential increase agricultural lands.

متن کاملSoil Biodiversity and Grass Cropping Systems
Grass cropping in the rotation and the use of no-till seeding appear to be important components for developing sustainable cropping systems. Grass cropping and no-till seeding improve soil organic matter content, increase the soil microbial biomass, increase earthworm numbers, likely cause a buildup of fungivorous microarthropods and nematodes, and greatly increases the resistance of soil to er...
متن کاملIntegration of Health Information Systems to Promote Health
The health information systems (HISs) include data and concepts in health services given to patients to improve the management of such services (1). HISs with four key functions (data generation, compilation, analysis and synthesis, and communication and use) provides the foundation of decision-making (2). HISs is a useful source to collect data from the health sectors. It ensures the quality o...
متن کاملCropping systems, tillage and fertilization strategies for durum wheat performance and soil properties
Many sustainable agronomical practices can be adopted to contain environmental risks of crop production and, at the same time, sustain yield and quality. In this framework, the aim of this research was to study the effects of continuous cropping (CC) and crop rotation, tillage and fertilization strategies on durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) production. The responses of soil properties we...
